Boosting on Facebook is Bad Idea

In 2014, Facebook’s Boost Posts button feature was launched to help Page admins and advertisers get their posts seen by more people faster by promoting their posts on Facebook’s ad network.

Facebook claims this feature will help you reach a larger audience and is an “easy promotion” feature for your posts. Going into 2021, Facebook Pages still have this feature.

What is Facebook Boost Post?

For those who are not familiar, here is an overview of the Facebook post boost button.

Boosting your posts is an effective and inexpensive way to increase the exposure of your content. It is a simple and easy process. Posts are boosted directly from your Facebook page. You can also boost your posts by any amount. It’s a great way to get more people to see your posts, promote events, special offers and news, and reach new audiences through targeting.

How are boosted posts different from Facebook ads?

All boosted posts are Facebook ads, but not all Facebook ads are boosted posts.

All boosted posts are Facebook ads, but not all Facebook ads are boosted posts. To boost your page content, you need to post updates on your Facebook page. After that, you can promote that article. Alternatively, Facebook ads can be created separately from the content of your Facebook page.

This allows you to “hide” ads from your Facebook page. This is especially useful when your page fans don’t really need to see all the ad changes (most of the time they don’t!). Boost does not have this advantage.
